Reasons to visit in June

  • Late closings, at 10 or 11pm on most June nights, give you cooler hours to hit Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain after the sun drops.
  • Happily Ever After closes the night at Cinderella Castle, and Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away brings the parade route to life after dark.
  • Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade still runs its full Frontierland to Main Street, U.S.A. route despite the heat, giving shaded viewing spots along the way.
  • TRON Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train both offer Lightning Lane Single Pass, letting you buy your way past the longest lines in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland.
  • Splash relief at Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station in Storybook Circus gives kids a real break from the midday sun.

  • Afternoon thunderstorms regularly shut down Astro Orbiter, Barnstormer, and other open-air Tomorrowland and Storybook Circus rides right when the park is busiest.
  • Frontierland and Adventureland offer almost no shade, and June's heat makes waiting for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad miserable by midday.
  • High June crowds mean Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run routinely need Lightning Lane just to keep waits reasonable.
  • Hard-ticket evening events push regular park closing earlier some nights, cutting your standby ride time short before Disney After Hours starts.
  • Humidity makes even short waits for Peter Pan's Flight or Mad Tea Party feel long, and misting stations get crowded fast.
