Pros
Reasons to visit in March
- ✓TRON Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train both run in dependable spring conditions without hurricane-season storm cancellations.
- ✓Evening spectaculars like Happily Ever After and Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away look sharp against the mild March night air.
- ✓Fantasyland's indoor attractions, including it's a small world and Mickey's PhilharMagic, give you cool relief once the afternoon heat sets in.
- ✓Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade runs its full daytime route in comfortable temperatures rather than summer's midday scorch.
- ✓The Magic Carpets of Aladdin and other Adventureland attractions are still tolerable in March before summer humidity makes that land brutal.
Cons
Things to watch out for
- ✕Spring Break pushes this park to its highest crowd levels of the year, with Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run regularly topping 60 minutes by mid-morning.
- ✕Tomorrowland and Frontierland offer little shade, and afternoon sun makes queues for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain feel much longer than posted.
- ✕Main Street USA gets so packed during parade and fireworks staging that simply walking from the hub to the park entrance can take longer than expected.
- ✕Fantasyland's meet and greet lines, including Princess Fairytale Hall, stretch far beyond their queue switchbacks on the busiest March days.
- ✕About seven rain days this month can still shut down Astro Orbiter and other outdoor rides mid-afternoon with no warning.
Pro tip
Be at the rope drop by 9:05am and head straight to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train before its Lightning Lane Single Pass allotment sells out for the day, since March crowds burn through it fast. From there walk to TRON Lightcycle / Run and ride standby while the wait is still under 30 minutes, ideally before 9:45am. Save Fantasyland's indoor shows like Mickey's PhilharMagic and it's a small world for the 1pm to 4pm stretch when the sun is harshest and outdoor queues in Tomorrowland and Frontierland are at their worst. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Pirates of the Caribbean are better used after 7pm once the heat breaks and the Spring Break day crowd starts heading out for dinner.
