Magic Kingdom Itinerary for Teens (13–17)

One-day plan — rope drop to close.

Your day at a glance

Rope drop

Rope drop (park open)

Rope drop: TRON Lightcycle Run

Morning

7:30–9:30am

TRON Lightcycle Run, Space Mountain

Lunch

12:00–1:00pm

Skipper Canteen (table service — book 60 days ahead)

Afternoon

1:00–5:00pm

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Lightning Lane), Pirates of the Caribbean

Dinner

6:00–7:00pm

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Evening

7:00–close

TRON second ride (evening)

Rope drop: TRON Lightcycle Run

Teens should own the first 90 minutes of Magic Kingdom. TRON opens at park open — go straight there, then hit Space Mountain before the crowds shift.

Morning plan

Lunch

Skipper Canteen (table service — book 60 days ahead)

Skipper Canteen has the best unique food in Magic Kingdom and the jokes appeal to teens. A surprisingly good sit-down option for the price.

Afternoon plan

  1. 1Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Lightning Lane)
  2. 2Pirates of the Caribbean
  3. 3Tiana's Bayou Adventure
  4. 4Buzz Lightyear — compete for high scores

Pro tip: Challenge teens to a Buzz Lightyear score competition — the highest achievable score is 999,999 and a few thousand gets you Expert rank. Competitive motivation works.

Dinner

Be Our Guest Restaurant

Evening plan

  1. 1TRON second ride (evening)
  2. 2Big Thunder Mountain at night — genuinely better after dark
  3. 3Fireworks from Main Street (teens will appreciate it more than they admit)

The park after fireworks empties fast — the last 30–45 minutes are prime time for re-rides with virtually no waits.

Lightning Lane priorities

  • 1.Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • 2.TRON Lightcycle Run (if afternoon return needed)

Let teens set the pace after noon. The morning is parent-planned efficiency; the afternoon is theirs. Autonomy within the park boundaries keeps everyone happy.
