- Avatar Flight of Passage, the park's headliner, is far more approachable in September than in busier months.
- Wilderness Explorers and the Discovery Island Trails are pleasant to explore without fighting foot traffic.
- Bluey's Wild World at Conservation Station stays a hit with younger kids without the long character lines of peak season.
- Festival of the Lion King has open seating more often since fewer guests are packing the theater.

- Asia and Africa have almost no shade, and September afternoons routinely push into the 90s with brutal humidity.
- Daily storms tend to roll through in the afternoon, which can shut down Kali River Rapids and outdoor trails with little warning.
- Animal Kingdom often runs shorter operating hours than the other parks, so there's less runway to wait out a storm.
- Maharajah Jungle Trek and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail animals often retreat from view in peak heat, leaving less to see midday.
